Consider the SWCOEH on GivingTuesday

Please save the date for Tuesday, November 29 – GivingTuesday – a global movement encouraging generosity to support programs and organizations in your community.

This year, from the SWCOEH, we are encouraging our community to support our academic programs, which help train the new generation of professionals in occupational safety and health (OSH) and support workers and their communities.

The SWCOEH was established in 1977 to promote OSH for workers and their communities through inspiring education, innovative research, and engaging outreach. We train OSH professionals in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Occupational Epidemiology, and Total Worker Health®. Our alumni are leading organizations across industry, government, and academia.

For instance, during our 45-year history, we have graduated over 100 world-class physicians from our Occupational Medicine Residency Program, one of just two such programs in Texas. Demand for higher environmental standards is growing and disaster response training in an increasingly important component of occupational medicine. However, Occupational Medicine Residency Programs are facing severe funding shortages nationally and we need your support.

Also, our outreach program supports communities in a variety of ways, including: hard-to-preach agricultural workers and their families, education on workplace infectious diseases, and vaccine education. And our Continuing Education program serves as a training resource for professionals by delivering specialized courses in response to current training needs.

Your tax-deductible donation to the SWCOEH will support our mission to help train the new generation of professionals in occupational safety and health (OSH) and support workers and their communities. Please consider supporting us for GivingTuesday.
