CycloBia is a free event that temporarily transforms Brownsville streets into a car-free environment that will enable people to exercise and cycle safely on the streets.
CycloBia Brownsville is an open streets initiative that encourages residents to be physically active by closing selected city streets to motorized traffic. CycloBia is held 4-6 times per year on selected streets in Brownsville’s downtown area. The streets are closed for three hours and bike rentals are made available free of charge at each event to encourage cycling for all attendees.
CycloBia is hosted by multiple departments and leaders of the City of Brownsville to include the mayor, commissioners, Traffic Department, Health Department, Parks and Recreation Department, Police Department, and Transportation department.
