Data Request

As the CHCD grows, so does our inventory of diverse datasets that supports research and population health initiatives. Datasets can be broken down into three major categories: 1) Claims data which includes Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial data; 2) Electronic medical record data; and 3) Non-Medical Drivers of Health (NMDoH).

Our datasets consist of information from both national and state levels. Texas level data includes Medicaid, Medicare and NMDoH and more.

Need help on your next project?

Our team’s expertise includes working with big data, conducting data analysis, producing data visualizations for easy interpretation, and providing project management services. We are committed to supporting research projects, service projects, and grant submissions by providing our services and leveraging our data resources.

Partner with Us

Our team has partnered with researchers, community organizations, healthcare entities, state agencies, and others on research grants, pilot studies, and service projects covering various health topics.

Grant Collaborations

As Researchers, we understand the effort it takes to draft and submit a competitive proposal for funding. To increase the chances for a successful submission, we ask potential partners to provide ample time to:

  • Fine-tune project aims and overall proposal

  • Refine the scope of work for each party involved

  • Discuss budget parameters

  • Review and revise all required documents for submission

  • Receive a letter of support from our Center, if applicable

All grant submissions will be routed through UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. Please allow at least 15 business days or more for our team to receive internal approvals for grant submissions following the requestor’s approval of the budget and scope of work. To begin the process, submit a Data Request

    Submit a Data Request

Due to our dataset’s sensitivity, strict guidelines exist for how our data can be used. Those interested in our data resources must complete our application process as outlined in our “Data Request Guide.” Below is the process for Data Requests.

    1. Submit a Data Request: Using the online Data Request form, submit your request for an initial review of your data needs, to include services such as data analysis and data visualization support. Our team may meet with the requestor to refine the data request.

    1. Complete and Submit Required Documentation: Once a request is deemed to meet the requirements for data use, the requestor will be asked to complete a data request application.

    2. Review Submitted Documentation: CHCD will review and discuss the request with the submitter after submitting all required documentation.

    3. Launch Project: If a project is approved to continue, our Project Managers will work with the requestor from start to finish. This will include supporting the development and approval of project documents such as budgets, legal documents, data use agreements, and more.
