Creating Healthy Actions Today (CHAT)
CHAT is a smartphone-based program to promote healthy eating and physical activity among African American breast cancer survivors.
Randomized controlled trial in which individually tailored, theory-based education to improve diet and physical activity with messages are delivered via a smartphone application along with accelerometer assessment to the intervention group. A control group receives assessment only.
The primary aim is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness (relative to assessment-only control group) of a smartphone intervention designed to improve diet and increase physical activity through education, self-monitoring, and prompting among African American breast cancer survivors.
