Using Digital Tools to Improve Physical Function in Cancer Patients and Survivors

Speaker: Maria C. Swartz, PhD, MPH, RD, LD
Length: 58:22 minutes

Cancer and cancer treatment can negatively impact physical function in people diagnosed with cancer. Worsened physical function is associated with worsened symptom burden, reduced treatment completion, and reduced health-related quality of life. Thus, the overarching research program in the Swartz lab aims to address the under-detection and under-treatment of physical function challenges experienced by cancer patients and survivors. The Swartz lab capitalizes on rapid changes in technology to identify scalable physical function assessments and interventions to improve access to cancer rehabilitation and improve clinical outcomes. This webinar will highlight digital tools used by the Swartz lab to improve physical function and health-related quality of life in cancer patients and survivors.
