Machine learning algorithms are currently used in several areas to improve decisions, but none will be as important as in healthcare. Its greatest potential impact will be in poorer and remote areas that have difficult access to medical specialists and other health professionals. This talk will present results from a research group at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, on the development of machine learning algorithms to improve decisions in disadvantaged areas.
