Black Austinites are overrepresented among confirmed COVID-19 cases, related hospitalizations and deaths relative to their share of the local population. Recently released demographic data shows that they are also disproportionately represented among COVID-19 vaccine recipients—but in this case, they account for less than their share of the population.
