Staying Active While Working from Home

Published: March 15, 2021

This is the third week of National Nutrition Month® and this week's theme is physical activity. Below  are some helpful tips to stay active while working from home. I have also included a beginner workout that can be done at home with no equipment.

Ways to stay active while working at home

  • Plan a section of your day to go for a walk (listen to a podcast, music, audiobook, phone a friend, phone into a meeting if possible)
  • Set timers to stand up and stretch
  • Set timers to breath
  • Create a standing desk environment if this is possible for you
  • During meetings have a time where everyone stands up and stretches
  • Schedule active meetings like yoga
  • Find a place inside to do a quick workout during a break
  • Create a time to stand up and make a meal
  • Take the stairs whenever possible
