Ideas for a Socially Distanced Halloween

It may seem like Halloween is cancelled this year amidst social distancing due to COVID-19, but there are still many ways to celebrate Halloween in a safe way. You might just have to get creative! We pulled together a list of possible activities to take the place of your normal Halloween traditions to ensure you and your family still get to enjoy the holiday. Remember, to stay socially distant (six feet apart) from those not in your home unit and to wear a mask.

Here are some ideas for a socially distanced Halloween:

• Go trick or treating with your family or with one friend

• Drive around your neighborhood looking for Halloween decorations
• Visit a drive-in movie theatre and watch a Halloween movie
• Watch a movie at home by using a projector outside with family or a few friends

• Decorate your home with Halloween decorations inside and trick or treat in different rooms of your home (you can even hide the candy and treats if you want to get creative)
• Organize your neighborhood to have different shifts of trick or treating where candy is left outside of houses and there is hand sanitizer that everyone has to use before they take a piece of candy

• Hold a spooky themed scavenger hunt in your home for your family
