Charles Spells is a Research Assistant I for the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health study Age of Initiation in Youth and Young Adults (PATHAI_YAYA). Prior to joining UTHealth, Charles worked as Disease Intervention Specialist for the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Charles is expected to graduate in 2022 from Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health with his MPH in Global Health. Charles also attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Community Public Health and a double major in Forensic Science. His study interest includes adolescent health, LGBT health, and global health policy. Outside of work, Charles enjoys traveling in the states, trying new foods, and spending time with friends and family.
