2027 (90th) Texas Legislature Bill Tracker
Since the 2013 session, the Center has hosted a legislative bill tracker that identifies proposed bills related to child and adolescent health, research taking place at the Center, and our faculty expertise.
The 2027 legislative tracker is segmented into seven general categories. Each legislative biennium, Center students and staff identify related bills as new bills are filed and the status of each bill as the session progresses. Each category of the legislative tracker is accompanied by relevant resources.

2027 Texas Legislature Dates of Interest:
- November 2, 2026: General election for federal, state, and county officers (Texas Election Code, Sec 41.001 Elections Code)
- November 9, 2026: Bill pre-filing begins for legislators and legislators-elect
- January 12, 2027: 90th Legislature convenes at noon [Sec. 5(a), Article III, Texas Constitution; Sec. 301.001, Government Code]
- March 12, 2027: 60-day deadline for bill filing
- May 31, 2027: Adjournment (sine die); session ends, veto period begins
