Tobacco and nicotine use among young adults is a significant public health concern. Using data from large annually repeated cross-sectional samples of Texas college students, Dr. Caroline North discusses the prevalence and trends in nicotine/tobacco use among Texas college students. Then, using data from the Vaping, Acculturation, and Media Study (Project VAMoS), a longitudinal cohort study of Mexican American college students in Texas, Dr. Bara Bataineh discusses the role of social media in Mexican American young adults’ tobacco/nicotine use.
